| The Brevard Small Business Initiative It is our intention to help persons in our commnuity open and operate micro, home based & small businesses and by doing so ease the current income gap while providing a boost to the local economy and a increase to the tax base. The initiative has 4 main areas in which it will work to impove the chances of micro & small business to suceed. 1) By providing ( At no cost) information & resources on opening micro, home based and small business within Brevard county though free Self Employment expos, free seminars and online. 2) Working with local goverment to reduce opening cost, ease current restrictions and to make more readily available any information on all local, state and federal incentives programs 3) Identify and promote landlords that are willing to work with start up businesses to help ease the opening and operating cost to better ensure their success. 4) To develope a commnuity of local investor that will provide micro-loans for local residents for start up costs. All endeavors by the BSBI will be on a not-for-profit basis. (we currently hold no non or not for profit status) We will be promoting Brevard's First ever Self Employment Expo Eau Gallie Civic Center in September 2010 Check back for dates and locations.
